Hey i just bought the dlc and followed the instructions. It gave me a popup in the right corner saying its installed but incompatible with the current version of the game, and to please update it. Is the game not updated? I am so confused because i just installed both the base game and dlc and followed the instructions.

Make sure you've deleted any older versions of the DLC and the base game, then restart your PC.

What is the current version number? How do I figure out if I have the older version.

When you open the game, it should display the current version number in the top right corner (version 5.5.2 is the latest) ^^ However, it doesn't display the version number of the DLC since it's typically meant to mirror the base game. The only way to know if you're using an older version is via the "incompatible version number" warning you received.

Delete any previous versions, re-download and reinstall everything again, then restart your PC.

Ok I did as you suggested and I didn't see a pop up does that mean it's working? I See the version says 5.5.2 and it says dlc on the write side stating I am playing in the paid version

If the text tells you which version of the DLC is installed (and nothing else), then yes, that typically means it's working ^^ You can also start a new game (make sure to enable the DLC!) to see if it added all the new content.
