LMAOO I'm sorry for making you go through all this trouble ^^; Could you double-check the contents of the "14nightswithyou" folder and let me know what's inside?

• If there's another folder called "14 Nights With You" (with spaces!) inside, then use that folder instead.
• If there's an "image" folder and a bunch of .rpy/.rpyc files inside, then rename the original "14nightswithyou" folder to "14 Nights With You" (with spaces and capital letters!) instead.

TLDR the folder needs to be named "14 Nights With You" in order for Ren'Py to read the files. It can't be:

• "14nightswithyou-free" or "14nightswithyou-paid"
• "14nightswithyou-zip"
• "14nigthswithyou"

Please check which files you've installed, and make sure you didn't accidentally copy or move anything other than the unzipped "14 Nights With You" folder.

If you still get that error after verifying your files, then you may need to completely delete the base game and the DLC, re-download them again, and then reinstall everything.

Unfortunately, I don't use the Itch app... So I don't have much knowledge on how to use it ^^; Because of this, the following suggestions might not be accurate or helpful!

Firstly, are you able to open the Itch app, right-click the base game, choose the "manage game" option (or something similar), and open the game directory?

Alternatively, can you look through the .itch folder instead until you find a game directory similar to the following image:

If you're able to do so, could you try moving the "14 Nights With You" folder there instead? So long as you're able to find the correct "game" folder, the DLC should work.

Again, because I don't use the Itch app, I'm not really sure how to solve your problem. I'm very sorry!!

The free version offers the original 18+ scenes at no extra cost. The paid version offers all that, as well as additional 18+ content. Again, please visit the DLC page to learn more about it.

As for your question, the DLC will typically be updated alongside the base game. But since 14DWY is a passion project, I tend to work on it whenever I feel like it — so I can't really give an exact estimate of when it will be completed ^^; I'm very sorry!

Just to make sure, are you certain you're running the correct "14dayswithyou" app (and not a shortcut to a different folder)?

My only other suggestion is to delete all previous versions of the base game and the DLC, re-download everything, then try installing again.

Did you unzip the base game as well? You might be trying to put the "14 Nights With You" folder inside a zipped/archived folder — or a folder that you don't have permission to edit.

To avoid any misunderstandings, the 14DWY demo and the 5.5 version are the same thing. You can't download them separately. The latest version of the DLC will always be compatible with the latest version of the 14DWY demo — which, as of right now, happens to be the 5.5 update.

But just for further clarification... From what I've been told, JoiPlay is meant to emulate Android/mobile devices, so it works differently from PC. The demo will not work as intended on any third-party apps or emulators (since it's developed for PC only), and I can't offer any help to JoiPlay users, as I have no experience with it. I'm very sorry!!

The demo isn't meant to be played on JoiPlay, unfortunately. It's designed and developed for PC (Windows, Mac, Linux) only.

14DWY is intended to be played only on PC (Windows, Mac, and Linux), and the Android version is still incomplete and riddled with issues. I can't offer support for any third-party apps like JoiPlay, as I have no experience with them. Sorry!

It looks like you're using a third-party app (like Joiplay) to run 14DWY. Please understand that the demo is only meant to be run on PC (Windows, Linux, Mac), which is why it won't work 100% with emulators. As I have no experience with third-party apps, I can't offer any help or support for any issues you encounter. Sorry! >_<
