Does this work with Substance Painter 2 (Steam)?

earliest tested version is Painter 2.5 (Feb 2017)

I think that's the one I have:
Substance Painter 2 (Version 2017.3.3 - Build 1955 - Steam Indie). Will this plugin work on it? It's basically a smart material/effect, yes? I do plan on getting Substance Painter 2026 Indie on Steam this summer as well as Substance Designer.

It should! That version looks to be released in Dec 2017.

Okay sweet, are there any limitations of using it in Substance Painter 2017? Which is better to buy it from ArtStation or Itch? Does it not matter?

It works the same regardless of version. And here, its not available on ArtStation.
