Started the first Ukanets mission and reyla had a key role. Is this because she was in my party and I missed that for other missions or is it just a coincidence

That mission is unique for pushing a major character that isn’t Lucia to the forefront, and it happens regardless of if Reyla is in your active party or not. So yeah, it’s a one-time thing. The dev probably felt she fit that role particularly well and it would be okay to do it since she’s an unavoidable party member.
