Shift handles items and gear it a simple way. You've got a pack trait , if you need something not on your sheet, you downshift the trait to just have it.

I like it.

However, I didn't use it of Orboboros.

A major influence of my game is Zelda and in Zelda items are key. What you have is important, in fact, it's the main way your character gets stronger. Finding a heart container gets you more health. Getting a better sword lets you do more damage. And so on.

Therefore Orboboros uses simple but specific rules for items and treasures. You can find fine and magic weapons. You can find treasures that can do anything from act as a grapnel to raising the dead. You can even find magic orbs that can make you stronger and give you spells.

Yes, its a deviation from normal Shift, but the game makes doing these hacks easy. When I write my next Shift game it'll use the old gear rules and I'll hack something else.
