I know you're capable of real art, which is why it pains me to see you resorting to AI lately. That's an unfollow from me.
Thanks for being upfront about leaving rather than just clicking unfollow — I respect that.
I get the concerns around generative tools, especially the training-data question and the pressure on working artists.
A few honest notes on where I stand: I made everything by hand up to 2026 — there's years of hand-painted work in my older projects.
Vol. 1-3 are AI-generated, which is why the AI tag is checked on every page and why I include a free sample so nobody pays before they see the style. Plenty of asset packs on itch don't disclose at all...
To be clear, I'm not comfortable with how the major AI labs collected training data either — scraping images, text, and personal data without consent was wrong, and that critique applies whether you use the output or not. I'm aware of the tension in using these tools while holding that view; it's not a contradiction I have a clean answer for.
I'm not pitching this as a replacement for hand-painted art — it isn't. It's a different product at a different price
($7 vs the $30-60 hand-painted icon sets cost), aimed at indie devs who need volume for prototyping or shipping smaller projects.
Good luck with what you back going forward.
