I installed an earlier version that I downloaded a few years ago, and it ran fine. However, when I hit the dead-end at the end of chapter 1 and went back here to install the latest version, the installer ran fine, but the installed game itself won't launch at all. I tried installing it in a different folder, restarting my computer, running the exe as administrator, and even uninstalling/reinstalling the game, but nothing I do will get the latest version to launch even though the older version ran fine on the same computer less than an hour beforehand. Heck, I even tried moving my save files to a different folder just in case there was some kinda compatibility issue between versions, but it still won't launch. What could the issue be?

EDIT: Just to be clear, it isn't even displaying the "Windows prevented this program from running" message; it just straight-up does nothing.

Sorry for the late response! That is... really weird. I've never heard of such a thing. I'm not sure what a silent failure like that would indicate. Have you tried uninstalling the old version and then installing the new version?

When I first installed the new version, I put it in the same directory as the old version to overwrite it, so any problems arising from that should have been undone when I uninstalled the new version or installed it in the other folder. My add/remove programs setting also didn't have a separate listing for the old version when I went to uninstall them.
