SPOILER WARNING! THE GAME IS BEST PLAYED WITHOUT PRIOR KNOWLEDGE!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WE FINALLY DID IT YES! 6th is by far the hardest but the final battle was so good. Like was fully expecting for a rule to let him duplicate or mess up while the batteries were all collected.

Tip for those who can't get past 6:

  1. First priority must be the switches. They are the most annoying and give you light when completed.
  2. Coal is annoying to find but candles should always be carried and discarded once you find coal. ALWAYS START WITH AREAS NEAR THE FURNACE AND THEN THE BOTTOM REGIONS. YOUR FINAL COLLECTION AREAS SHOULD BE IN THE MIDDLE REGIONS HALFWAY FROM THE TOP OF THE MAP TO THE BOTTOM.
  3. If you can, carry the coal as you run to the furnace and drop it nearby to save time.
  4. For duplicates, you must lure them towards the bottom and try to group them together. TURNING ON SWITCHES MAKE LOUD NOISES THAT DISTRACT THE MONSTER WHICH IS WHY YOU TRY AND GO TO THE BOTTOM AFTER CLEARING THE TOP AREA.
  5. If you are chased, run in straight lines as the monster can go through walls and cut corners by this method. You want to limit this as much as possible. Run across the outside area or run down the center conveyor belt as they have less ways to bump into. Bumping into things will slow you down. Memories dead ends.
  6. UTILISE THE CONVEYOR BELT. This gives a speed boost if you run in their direction and always lead to the furnace. The top area is where you go for safety. This is why you clear the top area first and then go all the way down.
  7. If you are struggling, die. Go into the fire or let the monster catch you to die and re-roll the rules to something favourable. Personally the easiest rules are the player can freeze and the player can starve to death. The hardest is usually the monster reach extension. During your first play through, duplication will be seen as the worst, you will soon realise it is not as bad but the initial jumpscare seeing multiple of them is bad.
  8. Sight, hearing and smell effectively is the same rule. Hearing is the most useful as mentioned earlier, smell just gives them homing and sight makes chase sequences happen more often. IF YOU HAVE THE REACH RULE ENABLED: DON'T STOP RUNNING, DON'T HIT ANY WALLS AND MAKE SURE YOU RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE SO THE MONSTER DOESN'T ATTEMPT TO CUT CORNERS BY WALKING THROUGH WALLS. YOU WILL DIE.

Good luck!
