Apparently if you buy the box with 15 research points, you will never reach 100 to get the ending, even if you have unlocked the tomb.
All of the items that give research points will only ever give enough to buy everything to get up to 100 at the end. However, with the addition of the box, if you buy it you will be 15 points short of 100 for the ending
