it's really great though i have a few criticisms. Particularly in the final parts.

1. Callum gets too much of the blame. I hate how one sided things are with Callum and it never feels like others get any criticism.

2. Marcus should've been called out more. He never tells Callum the truth about what happened and we the readers are supposed to feel sorry for him when he had plenty of chances to come clean. If i was Baxter and/or Troy I would be frustrated and tell him off because so much of the drama could've been potentially avoided had he been honest and allowed Callum to see Davids true colors. Callum isn't some lovelorn blinded fool, he's just someone who just thought he needed to help someone who didn't deserve. Not defending Callum but his actions are in a gray area because Marcus didn't come clean sooner

3. Some characters are wasted or pointless. Troy and Smoke are the biggest examples. Troy should've had a scene criticizing Marcus for not telling Callum the truth and be more supportive as a friend and Smoke should have more of a role in the final act as the secondary antagonist. Like what was the point of him? Especially with all the build up he does nothing substantial.

4. Rushed Reconciliation.  I think there should've been more before Callum and Marcus reconcile. Have Marcus initially hesitate to forgive Callum so that Baxter can talk to him and get him realize he was in the wrong not being honest, and to stop feeling guilty about David. Have Marcus tell David off in a cathartic moment and then have a stand off ending with Smoke arrested and Callum telling David to go pound sand with Marcus, Troy, Baxter, and even Ronny and Adrian/Aiden having his back. Then end it with Marcus and Callum both apologizing for their mistakes, reconciling and making love with the two cuddling in bed for the night since their dads are gone til tomorrow, optimistic about their future now that David's gone.

Just my thoughts. Sorry if its long.

Ahh no worries! Happy to discuss the story as it's still super fresh for me and I have no irl furry friends so xD

1. Yeah this is deff valid, like by the end he's basically just hated by everyone it felt like as if he's just supposed to take their word for it and forget about David completely and move on, which isn't realistic at all when they were together as long as they were and childhood sweethearts.

2. Yeah I was kind of hoping for a discussion where he questioned why they felt like locking him in the classroom and calling the cops was justified. I assume it would've been similar to how Baxter felt and reacted, so bringing it back up would've killed their getting back together. Ik it was mentioned multiple times Marcus's overly protective nature, so it deff goes back to that for sure, but I think he underestimated the importance David had to him and even held it against him when they break up. I get feeling betrayed, but if he were David in that situation then he would've expected Callum to react the same way and to still care for him, but demonizes Callum for feeling how he is. Everyone has their good and bad traits though as they're only human, so that's deff part of Marcus for sure.

3.Lmao funny u say that about cus for Smoke  legit thought he was going to be this big ass tough guy, like the dialogue had even joked like "that's it?" and it's some cracked out old rabbit lmao but he really just was the head of the group and that was it. I am glad it didn't go into this whole oh no Callum is kidnapped, Marcus needs to save the day! Kinda trope, bc that would've felt a bit stereotypical i feel like for the almost perfect bf Marcus comes off as lol Troy was great, I would love a little side adventure with him or more about him being ace and how he felt kinda being third wheel to the group as they grow into who they are even though he acts chill most of the time. Seeing him and Callum's relationship together is so sweet and his true side that I would've loved to see more of. For me I think Lupe is that char for me, she drove Callum on the quest he was on, but her not getting any resolution when she started the driving plot seemed odd. In my head I hope David visited her on the way out of town, but I feel like he truly thought it was easier for her if he didn't show back up just to leave again, reopening an unclosed wound.

4. I can see that for sure, I feel like endings are the hardest bits of stories and you don't want to drag things out. I worried it would turn into some standoff thing when David showed up at the door so I'm glad it was kind a quick no I'm done, like Callum truly came to terms that there was no future for them and Marcus was his bf now and that was that.

Great story, this and What it Feels Like are so well done. Can't wait to see what's next :3

I agree. I think What it feels like does show great improvement in his writing because it feels like he learned from the mistakes here. Mylo actually is allowed to feel validated and isn't vilified, side characters feel more utilized, and the conflicts aren't one sided. Plus Baxter is amazing. I wish he could've confronted Marcus about David and made him realize how unfair it was to be so hard on Callum. He was the only person who was understanding of his situation apart from Troy, but he didn't get to do anything sadly.

Also I do understand why the whole standoff thing would be cliched and potentially long drawn, but i think something could've been worked out. It just I'm someone who like to make sure all plot threads are tied up. But i get your concern.

I hope one day we see a remaster because I'd love to see how he improves things.  Thanks for the reply

I agree that would've been nice, and the third perspective would've helped the situation too so Callum didn't have it feel so one sided. Love Baxter though as well, Marcus is cute and has his moments, but feels like he has a bit more obvious flaws to him. I remember in WiFL Baxter said he owed Callum a favor, and I think that's what got him to go back before the wedding to fix things, so while they deff had their moments in this, I was hoping to see more close interactions between the two of them to give us that sense of closeness as friends more than just casual friends, but doing all that would've definitely made it longer lol And course! Great story so happy to talk about it with someone who shares similar feelings :3

indeed. Hopefully his next project is just as good.

Also one othet complaint is that i wish Callums dad had more to do. Unlike Mylos mom he seems to be a more reactionary person and just reacts to things especially when we don't know whst happened during the 4 year peroid and why he stopped seeing Callum for a year(probably to treat depression so that Callum wouldn't see him get buried). I wish we saw him and Callum have a misunderstanding during his grounded peroid that would've allowed the two to come to a better understanding and that he had a bigger role with the diner incident with Callums mom where he straights up tells her off and defends Callum, making it clear that he's not tolerating her actions. Just those two moments alone would elevate him.

Agree?

Yeah I see what you mean, makes him more of a side / background char in ways otherwise. I think he had some understanding, if i recall (been awhile since I read) he picks him up after he meets with his mom at the diner and it's kinda like he knows that he just experienced what he had known for years. So felt more like a silent understanding scenario

I don't mind that at all just wish he did more in the plot is all. Like step in when Callums mom lashed out and tell her off making it clear he won't let her sabotage Callums future.

Mylos mom really was a fun character and really balanced the strict yet supportive mother. Especially when she meets Baxter
