I am also having the same issue with the game not accepting my key. I have not been able to open the game once yet. Just curious, have you considered using Steam early access for beta testing? I know that you probably don't get to keep as much of the funds through Steam. However, it would allow you to more easily collect feedback and upload new builds of the game for people to try and allow you to potentially not need this key verification drm system that is currently in-place. I know these are complicated decisions and that you are likely working on numerous problems to try and get this finished as quickly as possible. Regarding Steam Early Access, you made a great point and that is definitely part of the plan! Right now, this early phase on itch.io helps me gather initial feedback and support, but moving to Steam later will absolutely make the update process easier and eliminate the need for this current key system.
