Urgent: Account Compromised and Malware Being Uploaded

Hello,

I am the developer of the game “New Family” on itch.io (https://king-peanut.itch.io/new-family).

About 4–5 days ago, my account was compromised by a hacker. The email address and password were changed, so I have been unable to access my account.

As soon as I realized this, I contacted itch.io support and have been waiting for a response. However, I was recently informed that two new games have been uploaded to my account.

I did not upload these games, and I strongly suspect that they were uploaded by the attacker. Given the situation, there is a high possibility that these files may contain malware.

Additionally, it appears that the attacker is deleting comments on those uploads, possibly to hide warnings from other users. This makes the situation even more concerning, as it could lead to more victims.

I believe this issue needs to be addressed as quickly as possible to prevent further harm.

For reference, my previous support ticket number is (363014).

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,

Admin

Thanks for the report, the account has been disabled and we sent the owner recovery instructions.

Thank you for the quick response. Thanks to your help, the issue has been resolved.

However, I would like to post an update on my game page to inform users that the hacking issue has been resolved, but it seems my account is currently under a temporary restriction due to suspicious activity.

Could you let me know how long this restriction will last?

I was worried because the page wouldn't open, but after seeing this post and learning what happened, I feel a little relieved. I know it must be a difficult situation, but I'm really looking forward to the day I can play your game again. I'm rooting for you.
