I really hope this works out for you! We need more devs having incentive to release on Itch ^_^

I'll try the demo on my Linux and hopefully it's an autobuy situation!

We think Itch is a good alternative to the common more established platforms, especially for additional products/extras.

Please tell us how the demo worked for Linux :-)

Most players are windows user.

Well, for now I have not been able to run it, whereas the Steam one works. But I'm very new to all this, so I'm discovering about running Windows based games on Linux outside of Steam.  I haven't tried everything yet though, so I'm hopeful!

I'll report here with news 👍

From all I know, Steam Deck is a Linux machine as well and uses Proton 9 (?) to run anything Windows-related on it. Maybe that's a good pointer for you as well?

Thank you! It was ultimately unrelated to the Proton bit and more an issue of sandboxing with the launcher I picked. One game folder moved to the right location later and it runs! :)

I'd gone through the demo using Steam yesterday already, but it confirms I won't be strictly depending on Steam, which means I'm now ready to wait for the 12th °^°. I have an itch of sorts, one might say. Do they make potions for that? :3

Questions about the game:

- Is there a way to skip other than clicking madly? :)

- What is the intended resolution for the cleanest visuals? I ran at 1280x720 but it looked very much like a 1080p game being shrunk uncomfortably into 720p. Unless it's a quirk of my card / Proton.

Hi Moni,

There indeed is an alternative to "clicking madly" :D - the game features an auto-progression mode that lets the text flow automatically. You can adjust the reading speed as well. If you want to replay some sections in order to explore new branches of the story, there is also an auto-skip mode that fast forwards through sections you've already seen. Hope this helps :)

Concerning the resolution bit, I've checked with tech, and they assume it could be a proton thing since the switch version was designed to run in 720p, and that does sound good. They suggested you play around with resolutions to see if sth looks better on your system.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Michel

Yup, aware of auto-play / hands-free mode from the demo, but I don't remember auto-skip °•°... is it in the full game only?

Re: resolution, I'll give it a try with the full game ^_^

One more day °u°

A little heads-up: Itch did not notify me of the game release. It sent an email about the DLCs though. I think I've heard of this happening though I'm not sure why.

I suggest making an explicit dev post announcing the release if you want people who follow the game / your account to get properly notified.

Hey, thanks for the info.

As the Tavern Talk project was already public with the demo, there will be no explicit notification. But we will send a post soon to announce the actual release.
