If you get lucky with the map gen, yeah.
This comment will spoil some things that you could discover on your own, read at ya own risk.
There's a lot of predictable stuff that's neat:
* Guardians cannot spawn directly on the dragon's axes (as in plural axis) (Guardians are the 7-power guys)
* Only one Guardian spawns per quadrant (Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast), and every quadrant contains one Guardian
* Rats will face in the direction of the Rat King (until the Rat King is slain).
* Beholders will obscure tiles, but the more obscured tiles you have, the easier it is to know where the Beholder is hiding (as it's just two tiles away in all cardinal directions, one tile directly diagonal; it blocks 12 tiles while it's active).
* Gargoyles (4-power guys) always spawn in pairs, directly facing each other. Every time you can be certain about marking a 4, there is always at least one other 4 adjacent to it. You can see their facing direction in their sprite, which will show upon either something like the vision orb revealing them, or them being revealed by you killing them.
* There is always a Minotaur (6-power guy) in one of the eight tiles surrounding a chest. There is always a chest in one of the eight tiles around the Minotaur, too. You also can see the Minotaur react to you opening its chest, and, in the event two chests spawn within the radius of one Minotaur, you can actually use that to know that there is a second chest to begin with, and by extension a second Minotaur.
* The Gnome seems to, from my experience, be uncatchable until you have revealed every empty tile. If something should reveal the tile the Gnome inhabits, the Gnome stands on top until you manually reveal the tile.
* The Mine Lord (10 power guy) always spawns in a corner. No exceptions. This actually means that if you can be certain that the Mine Lord is not in 3 of the 4 corners, you guarantee he's in the 4th, which means you don't need to spend time finding your way over to that corner and can instead just click the corner square on its own.
