Thought I accidentally bugged it by placing the mug behind the photo frame, meaning I couldn't interact with the mug anymore because the photo was in the way (this was before I realized I had to call the boss up again for the coffee + printer idea). Turns out you just have to be really precise to click on the mug.
I ended up just replaying it without realizing it, but it was still pretty fast and easy to get back to where I was though.
