This comment made my day! I was thinking the staircase was kind of long during play testing, but maybe it actually added to the unsettling vibe. There is no secret ending, but I was thinking it might be cool if there was a way for you to actually escape on your ship, maybe an Undertale kind of thing, where you can not harm the towers and collect scrap a different way on a second play through.
