stars value indicated by colors is nice. Not so nice that player control is also indicated by colors. So If I want to find a high value enemy star I need to hover to find one. Maybe colored cicles around stars would be a better player control indication. Also some visualsignal to see which stars are in range ( less than 2 parsecs) would be great. Maybe some special planets that have 0 value but give you an upgrade, like you have a range of 2 parsecs as long as you are in control.
Map and planets strength and starting planets seem to be chosen at random . This also means it is random how hard it is to beat the ai. I found that the starting advantage is what decides games, not so much my choices.

That's why it's called a Spaceman's Luck and not a Spaceman's Balanced! : > )

But you're right that player control should be indicated in some other way, and that having games where you aren't able to win is silly, this is a prototype to see what pisses people off. I'll try and address those issues and make gameplay smoother
