I enjoyed playing your game !
Some things I noticed: No scrollbar appears, so things are off screen and unreadable. in some cases I can only read things that are on the bottom if I zoom in /out.
Having  the classic tree like paths, with icons for enemise, shops, chests would be nice, this way you can plan ehaed for a few steps at least.

Enemies dont drop anything, so in a sense if there is a choice between a fight and something else, people would never choose the fight. Chests could be only available after a fight is won.

Enemies are nice, but a bit faceless. I dont know if its hard to do but it could be they have a certain colour armour and a certain color weapon. Paper armour is strong against stone attacks but weak against scissors. And you could fuse armors in your inventory to have ultimate armor.

Honestly, this is genuinely awesome. Armor is much more hard to come by than heal.
I always save up daggers to snipe FROM FAR FAR away the brown blobs that fart rust gas on death,

They can also choose to leave a scroll of identification

There is  a scroll that does exactly that.
My method is to stand next to an exit portal on a level you just cleared.
Use the staffs on the wall, throw/ drink potions, use scrolls. If the situation gets tough you can jump in the portal and escape.

About statues... are you sure about they do not do anything? ;D
Maybe you have not interacted with enough statues my friend...

Beat it finally! The last , 4th icon in the ember menu I was not able to understand initially. Now I think what it does is to jump back into the big fire, adding some fuel to it.

Maybe you could display some stats at the end. Wood collected, upgrades used, embers lost, ember types ... etc,

hmm, some hint of this possibility would be helpful.

2:30 on the clock is the best I can do, It is really hard to beat.

I dont know how to defend the shadows eating all my workers.

I like all of these ideas. Maybe something is important is leaving messages ( about loot, traps, dangers) so if someone finishes the catacomb, they can choose 2 users they feel had helpful messages. ( users who have messages at the catacomb just finished) It could be a dropdown.

Torch IV has a problem rounding numbers in the stats hover over display. Other levels of torches work

Sounds awesome. I think you are doing a great job with this game .

I think the game would benefit from some wall of fame or achievement system. So it would not just about beating the dungeon , but to collect things as well. Overarching achievements:

  • Beat level 30
  • Beat 20+ level on a monday
  • Have 30+ str when you beat a level
  • Have 3+ luck when you beat a level
  • Have 1000+ HP when you beat a level
  • Have 50+ defense when you beat a level

I had no issue with AI art, but I like this one as well.

Problem: I need to pick up stuff to decide if it will improve my defense or not. For example I find "+2 shoes" and I cant remember if I have worse,same or better. So i press i  to check, realize I have a "+0 boots" and I have no idea which one is better. so I press g to pick up the shoe, realize my inventory is full, so I drop something, pick up the shoes , press e to equip and check defense, realize it is worse, so i equip my boots back and drop the shoes, and pick up what i dropped to free space for the stupid shoes in my inventory.  Doing this dance every time i find a defensive item is really boring after 20 levels.

Solution1: the grid or table on the top right could have numbers in each cell to let you know what defense it gives you. so you have a glove icon and a 7 next to , or in the corner of the icon to let you know its defense.
Solution2: the text that you see when stepping on an item could tell you if it is better or worse than what you have equipped. for example you have no gloves on and and step on a good one: "This is a +4 Iron Gloves (+7 defense)". same text could appear if you target it with the examine /pressing 'x' . The number could be red if worse, green if better and white if same defense than what you have now.

Problem: There are staffs that are pretty useless and are an instant drop from my inventory. (or i am an idiot and dont know why these are in the game ): Healing, teleportation, invisibility, protection, adrenaline. (why would you boost your enemies?) 

Solution:

Rare merchant: you can trade 3 staffs for a different staff of your choice.
Rare Mirror: There could be rare mirror on the wall. Shooting a heling staff on the mirror would heal the player.
Rare enemy :the big white knight that has glass shield, this could reflect magic (good or bad back to the player)

Rare  god statue that reflect magic back to you.

It is worth to  walk into all statue, I got +1 luck this way three times already.
I was a bit afraid to detonate next to a statue to not anger the gods. :)  but its ok.

Just some things I learned living and dying in the dungeon

  • how to attack, dude? Same as you move, use your numpad's 7,9,1,3 to move and attack diagonally(numlock on) Diagonal means for example you have an enemy is left and above you. Read weapon descriptions(press i and move with arrows in the menu), daggers for example give you additional damage if you attack diagonally.
  • Other players messages sometimes lie to you. some players are trolling you. Also I noticed that item types and locations may change over time. so if someone leaves a "bad magic" or trap warning it may or may not be true.
  • wands, scrolls, potions and pendants can be BAD, like really bad. if you want to risk activating try to do it when you have cleared  the level and you are standing next to the stairs. If you summon gas or monsters with your item you can escape to the next level. second best is testing standing next to water, but that only saves you from fire.
  • Reveal scrolls effect: I usually wait till I get the scroll that reveals your inventory to see what scroll does what. Since v1.5 you can collect unlimited potions and scrolls, so inventory space is not an issue.
  • Reveal potions effect:Potions are more easy, just throw at a monster, the effect will be displayed on the bottom . If you press shift+k you will now see that potions effect is revealed. just make sure you throw from a distance to be abel to run away if gas/fire spreads out.
  • Reveal wands effect: I usually just shoot at a wall. 3 wands can be bad for you: conjuring, fire and the one that halves your life. there is a risk, but I generally want to know if the wand is worth the inventory space or not as most of the wands are simply useless.
  • Reveal pendandt effect: same as wands.
  • drop unused clothes and armor. Keep weapons , even bad ones so you can throw them to damage enemies.
  • collect daggers , and try to save as many as you can for the higher levels. You will need to take down enemies with corrosive, paralising effects from a distance.

3-4 hours. you could add those click and slide thingies instead maybe?

1.5 has not fixed it unfortunately.


pressing Enter after typing something random into captcha  added some extra lines about  no active session

I might have an idea what triggered it.
If I stop the game with the ? mark it does not kick me out and I can leave it paused for hours mid dungeon.

Maybe that caused it?

Im curious what does these weapon damage descriptions mean?

Edit:
I found it:

  • The first number is the amount of dice.

  • The letter 'd' is short for 'die' (as in a die roll)

  • The second number is how many numbers are in that die. 

So 1d6 is one regular six sided dice roll

4d6 is you roll 4 six sided dice and roll them, add up the numbers you rolled and that will be your damage.
