The moment I found that locked shapes are not stored when I collect them and just trashed was veeeeeeery unpleasant. what's the point..
The point is to earn enough to unlock the shapes. And in the meantime, clearing locked shapes will allow you to have larger groups of shapes you can collect, meaning much higher rewards for clearing larger number of the same shape.
