The very first area needed a lil more guidance. There are 3 glowing icons - but only one unlocks an ability. There are question mark icons in the next area that explain mechanics, but I spent a few minutes wondering why I couldn't do tricks and first assumed the game was broken. But nope, just needed to go pickup my first trick.
(For anyone else stuck start with the glowing icon at the top of a half pipe in the back area.)
Once I got into it it was fun - a lot bigger than I was expecting. Having to do tricks to keep feeding your boost is a nice loop too.
