Do you actually search games you want to play by using the search box?

I am asking because that search box is literal title search. How can you search a thing you do not know yet by it's title?

I do - when I see sth interesting on twitter or Reddit :)

I prefer to use the app to play because I don’t have to download stuff - it is installed and can be launched from there :)

Oh, okay.

I do not really use the app. On a browser I would just click the link and would not need to search the game.

I suspect that the App intentionally disables literal title search. It is too easy to spam known popular words into your title and hope to get found by people looking for better known games. So the search box there only "searches" the most popular games. Search also can dispaly honest and dishonest fan games for a search term with few clues wich is which. (I did see an actual malware fake and an original side by side in search and I also saw the fake indexed, while the original was not.)

One might not be happy with the results of  https://itch.io/search?q=baldi as an example for the fan games and clutter that shares a name.
