First class work... I really do feel like I’m standing on the film sets in the 70’s... I’m glad you you put the travel tube car on the top level... I’ve always thought that the cars must be able to travel vertically down to the tubes as it would be the fastest way to get to a launch pad.. It is the only logical way when main mission personnel rush to get to an Eagle...

Please try if you have time to make the full interior of an Eagle.

Kind regards, Richard

I sent another note to you separately - and yet I'll post here too.  Your work is absolutely incredible... I've wanted to walk around Moonbase Alpha since I was 5 years old, You've fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine by letting me go to the moon. Looking forward to future updates :)

Hi nycidk, it’s funny what we remember from our childhood. One of the silly things that I remember impressing me as a kid was the Earth globe in Commander Koenig’s office. Maybe it was the minimalist design but it always struck me as being very futuristic :-)

You mention that you sent a separate note but I don’t think I got anything. Where did you send it?

Hiya - I loved that globe! I spent some time spinning it last night :)

I think I sent you a note to your itch.io profile - said basically the same thing.

If we're talking about the other little things I remember and still love... the shot of the travel tube as it passed between 'sections,' and of course, actually sitting in an Eagle cockpit!

Have a fantastic day, and thanks again for the awesome experience!

Hi Richard, now that you mention it, the Travel Tube tunnel is always at ground level isn’t it. Without thinking about it too much I simply assumed that when we saw Commander Koenig exiting the Travel Tube capsule on his way to main mission that the two spaces must have been closely related and thus I created that minimal section of corridor to connect Main Mission with the main Corridor. But of course, it doesn’t have to be that way.

As far as modeling the interior of the Eagle goes, I’m confident that the passenger pod is going to happen but the command module in the nose cone is a different story. It’s too irregular and the screen captures are not comprehensive enough for me to get a good feel for the whole space. Never say never but I don’t see that part of the build ever getting done :-(

If the Eagle is a bit of a problem. How about Command Centre from season 2?

Hi Richard,

At the moment I’m thinking of tackling the hangar bay next. I don’t have a clear vision of how it will end up but I like the idea of creating a vast interior space. I’ve been wondering how many Eagles I’ll be able to cram it with before my graphics card goes up in flames :-)

Considering that so far the project has focused on season 1 sets, I don’t think I’ll attempt the Command Centre from season 2. It would feel a little redundant and out of place. Having said that though, the computer wall in Main Mission does have the big numeral “3” displayed in the top corners. I guess that implies that there are at least 3 control centres sprinkled throughout Moonbase Alpha.

the Hanger bay sounds nice!!!!  Will you be including the flight control room where Koenig talks to Alan Carter in the first episode?

And I see what you mean about the command centre.. just thought with all the displays on the desks and it being more colourful it would have looked spectacular.. anyway I look forward to seeing your next update which I know will be fantastic..

Kind regards, Richard

Hi Richard,

I’d already spotted that windowed room that overlooks the Hangar bay and I’m keen to include it in the model. I haven’t yet done an exhaustive search to see if there are more images of that room so I don’t really know how I will connect it to the corridors or how the window is integrated into the hangar walls. It’s all up for interpretation at this stage and I haven’t even started to build up an impression of how it all might come together.

Lately I’ve been doing some preliminary setup work on my “Jupiter 2 VR” project from Lost in Space but I haven't yet reached that tipping point where it feels like a viable project which then goes on to motivate me to that next phase of productivity :-)
