At the point where you have to say "you should play through it again or you'll miss a bunch of content", that's definitely a reMAKE (and it all being the same plot beats means I'll now have to see a bunch of stuff I've seen before just to get the new stuff as it gets sprinkled in). Not that I'm actually complaining - do what you want, it's your game - but that particular claim is just entirely misguided. This is very much a remake by every definition of the term.

I added new stuff into the earlier acts in the original, too, and retroactively reorganized quite a few events for pacing or plot reasons. I did a complete graphical overhaul at one point, and changed UIs twice. The exploration system went through two iterations, and the battle system three. Now you might argue all that also counts as me remaking the original, and if so, sure - this counts as a remake by your definition.

However, my stance is that adding new content to a work in progress does not constitute a ‘remake’ in any sense of the term. I am reworking some of the older content for pacing and mechanical reasons, and I am adding new content to help flesh out existing characters, events and lore.

At the end of the day, though, all this is just arguing semantics. Regardless of the term you choose to apply, I hope everyone can see my intention and enjoy what’s coming.

I just want to make CK the best it can possibly be, and hopefully people stick with me on this insane, incredible, often-frustrating journey :)

Yes, I understand, it's just that you expressly denied something semantic that I believe to be objectively true. Hope you have fun with the process either way, and I look forward to experiencing the finished game!

Well I very much appreciate that we can disagree on semantics without bickering about it - always a huge delight to me to find someone so mature to debate with! :) And thank you, I hope that you enjoy the updates I have planned, and that they don’t disappoint you!
