I'm often apprehensive about games designed for the sole purpose of making the player rage (mainly due to the doubt I have that I'll possess the skill required to actually progress in games like that), but this game looked really fun and I'm so glad I decided to play it.
The gameplay itself was very enjoyable, just the right amount of frustrating that doesn't fully ruin your mood, with checkpoints positioned in a way that felt far to travel to, but did not feel so far that respawning felt like an overwhelming punishment.
The art style is wonderful, very cute and playful, which I feel contrasts well with the rage-inducing intent of the gameplay. Couple the art style with the comedy the game provides (absurd, bizarre and somewhat slapstick in nature), and the experience feels very balanced between frustration and humour; you can enjoy the game for its properties beyond just reaching that next checkpoint. I consider that to be a very well thought-out game design.
The character customisation was most certainly a welcome surprise, I always adore it when a game gives you the ability to design your own character.
Definitely looking forward to playing the full game when it releases :D
