Ah sorry to hear that, yes it lacks a tutorial so it can be confusing. The summoning minigame works like Simon says, match the 3 symbol pattern to successfully summon. I half explained it in the 'Controls' menu but didnt really explain it well. Its quite fast, perhaps it could be slow initially but later speed up towards late game.
