The story was extremely good. My interpretation is a bit more straightforward than that of voyagerltaj. I saw the characters as the embodiment of the twisted mindspaces a child would be wandering through when faced with the oppressive reality of abandonment. The order which they were introduced as time passed is also quite interesting, with the protagonist continuously being doubtful of his circumstances throughout the game, the characters provided the child with the answers he "needed" to hear at that point in time, with Croakstan being this overly-optimistic hyper-energetic almost goofy critter expressing the child nature of the protagonist --trying to cope with the unfortunate predicament by squeezing the positive aspects out of everything and trying to reject all of this serious questions that our protagonist has, without trying to bring false hope. The introduction of Greowl brings this more realistic pursuit of answers to the doubt whilst also being wary of not wondering too far into heavy topics. I felt as Oscar with his ominous entrance and his character of being this collected and wise but vague answering daimon was the summit of the journey where the protagonist's mind stops asking so many questions and delves into the discomfort of accepting the situation. This is further amplified by the order in which the other parts of his mind (Croakstan and Greowl) were relieved of their purpose. The end was quite intriguing as I felt this sense of comfort through the lens of the character, the comfort of not having to wait anymore which was followed by incertitude of his existence being missed.

I feel like this is more of a description than an interpretation 😭😭 ,but i wanted to share my thoughts on this masterpiece.

The fact that the story was so vague let a lot of gaps for you mind to fill in which really added to the entertainment of exploring this already dark topic.

The atmosphere was ingeniously executed with the room being so small (making you feel like there really is nowhere to go), the mundane tasks to keep your mind busy, the child lineart everyhwhere and the textures on the models all being complemented by the music made for a pretty immersive experience.

I want to also mention that at times it was a bit annoying to explore the dialogue options of the characters since there would be new stuff but also be accompanied by some recurring lines. Also the drawings for executing actions were nice for the drinking water and the drawing but somehow felt a bit off for watching out the window.

All in all congrats on this crazy good execution for your first story game!

Thank you so much for the kind words, for playing the game and for writing this! It means a lot to me 😊

I really love your interpretation! I made the game very vague, at times to its detriment. But I really like reading how people interpret the story, and I do agree with how this attitude with leaving stuff more mysterious can become enjoyable for some people to fill in the gaps themselves.

For the dialogue I agree. Next time I do dialogue, I'll definitely make it less annoying! 😄

Thank you again! Quick question, did you come from my youtube video, or did you find the game on itch? 🤔
