That’s a fair point, but like you said, metroidvania isn’t really a strict term.
After all, there are 3D Castlevanias and first-person 3D Metroids.
In Magical Blush, I try to capture the exploratory essence of metroidvanias, with backtracking and abilities that open new paths.
