Nice Entry.

I managed to complete it but had to go restock a few times in the end. I didn't have enough gear on me.

It feels retro and has a good mix of inventory management, items, encounters, quests, town and dungeon crawling.

I wonder if the art is painted as pixel art and converted into ASCII, or was it made directly in ASCII?

My playthrough took about 2h30m+, but I didn't try to rush it, and I never died. So not sure what happens if you do.

Thanks to you for submitting the game...

The art was made directly as ANSI art using a custom engine that captain coder made.
We tried converting pixel art directly over, but it doesnt look 'right'

It also only uses the original very limited pallette and uses special characters to 'blend' them.  The characters are also not 'square' like normal pixel art but are 2x1 tall.  If you see a solid single pixel it is an illusion and is in fact 2 'pixels' of each different colors.
Making the art for this game took about 3-4 times as long as doing it the 'traditional' way, but I think it has a neat look to it!
