Apparently this can be a bug with Ren'Py games, but I haven't found anything on my end to fix it yet. I'll keep trying

Until then, the only other steps I've found are:

  • Hold shift when starting the game. This will bring up the graphics menu and you can choose a different renderer
  • Move the game location
  • Delete the persistent data. Go to %appdata%/Renpy/ and delete the game folder
  • Check the log.txt, traceback.txt, or errors.txt files in the Game folder. (If there's a specific issue here, please let me know)
  • Run the game in compatibility mode

I'm so sorry for this! I'll see what I can do to get it working

not sure if anyone else has had the issue too since then, but i just realized i can't open the game either D: i wonder if it may have something to do with v5.2 specifically because i remember being able to open the game some time ago when v5.2 was out but not updated on my account (so i was playing the previous version basically). i can keep you posted on if i find anything that gets the game back up too, but just thought it may help to know!!

either way, much love and appreciation for everything you're doing to keep the game alive here! the character redesigns are so lovely (like others i am a big fan of reiner's in particular) and have just enhanced the game/story experience. wishing you well in your personal life and hoping things are smooth sailing or at least stay better from here on out!!!

Thanks for letting me know! I've tried to add a fix with v5.3 but let me know if that doesn't work
And thank you so much for your kind words :D Hopefully I'll get season 6 out soon!
