Why this problem have two separate topics? Anyway. I’ll share a silly trick I came up with to make things easier. Place a chair (I used a metal one, too) on top of something near the door (in my case, it was a pot), and after you sit down, turn around and pull on whatever you used to tip the chair forward, easily pushing you through the door.
