i tried to install the 0.9a update after ignoring it to launch 0.8.2 just to prepare some things, and when i try to launch 0.9a now, it just takes me to its file location. i have no issue with 0.8.2 and im not sure if i did something wrong. If anyone would be willing to help me that would be very much appreciated.

I assume you're using the yeetpatcher thing. I might get shit for this but i would recommend deleting it and then redownloading the game from the itch.io homepage using the download button. It will give you the most recent version then just unzip it using 7zip and then send the votv.exe to desktop. If you REALLY want to still use yeetpatch it should be included in the download as well. But i genuinely don't understand why people use it, it's slower than downloading it regularly but to each their own.

Im not sure what the yeetpatcher is, i just tried to download it from the Itch.io Votv page itself and it just created a Votv 2 folder. Every time i try to launch 0.9, itll open up to that folder in the file browser. I'm not sure if i did something wrong or what.

You are unpacking the zip right? When you download the game it gives you a zip, which you must unpack using 7zip or winrar. So just open the zip then drag the file containing everything tto the location you want the game to be.

I did, and now when i try to launch the game it stays stuck loading up the game. i have to use task manager to force close the application.

Make sure you drag it to a folder or something. Not your downloads directory or program files folder. if that still doesn't work then maybe try deleting the "data.sav" file in your "Yourname/AppData/Local/VotV/Saved/SaveGames" directory.

would that delete my 0.8.2 saves?

i just tried and it didnt work. what else should i try

Honestly i have no idea at this point. If the game was working before it should still work, i've never had the game freeze on start up before, are you sure it's not just taking a little while to load? lol
