Thank for the insightful feedback! It all comes down to definitions. For me an incremental game is not a game where there is not a strict sequence to be followed. An incremental game is any game where there is a progression system, either by numbers going up, or unlocking new mechanics, and this game has both. This definition is very vague, and in fact, most games are incrementals, with some exceptions, like competitive multiplayer games, for example: Dota, Tekken, Chess,… An incremental game can literally be pressing a button to increase a number, and another button to spend that number to make the first button give you more number. Then, I would agree that that game is not fun, but would still satisfying a definition and being fun are not the same thing. Therefore, I agree that a game with more freedom of choice is more interesting and therefore more fun, but if it does not have that parameter, it does not mean it is not incremental. With that said, in fact I don’t like a game which is too linear, which Chrono Bot currently can feel like, but this is just an introduction, and I wanted to keep things simple. In future content we will have more paths, more freedom, and hopefully, more fun :D
