Well that definitely sounds like a reason not to play it... what an overly serious downer.
The game is mostly goofy and fun, with a hint of something darker underneath it all. It's only really the ending where everything turns all of a sudden; up until that point I genuinely didn't realize the game was trying to spin into a dark direction
