12.a did drop a few months ago, the dev just didn't announce it. It's right there in the downloads. However, yeah, this guy certainly takes a while. They seem to be suffering from the most deadly of game dev curses, "Feature Creep". They want to add a TON of new characters, costumes, and even a base builder. On top of that, as their game development skills improve, they go back and fix old systems which also takes time. PLUS they're doing it all for free for a semi-niche community. There are donations, but I doubt that alone is enough to pay the bills.
