Just a meta observation that itch.io seems to be serving non-animated versions of images older than 60 days in the comments/in posts. Eg: this image.
Animated URLs have /original/ while non-animated /originalm/ but manually changing it results in an error.
Edit: oh, the Wayback Machine crawl from that time also shows them static. Maybe there was a site issue.
