I could be mistaken, but after quite a few play throughs I've noticed that the windowed mode and the fullscreen mode play differently, particularly that fullscreen is more difficult (I could be completely off on this, just thought I would mention). Overall, everything feels improved in this version and my god it has been so nice to play this game again. Full version when?? Hype! I can 100% guarantee, that both fullscreen and windowed mode are running the exact same application. It's really just a necessary selection at the start of the game, since switching modes in a running instance comes with all sorts of caveats and dangers to break the tech, i.e. sprites getting purged from memory, or what not, so I've chosen the safe route here.
However, you can always TaskSwitch (ALT+TAB). That wasn't always the case, but now works with all subsystems. Pretty proud of this one, also props to the backend team at PureBasic for continuously updating my favorite programming language. <3
I kinda know what you mean tho - depending on how some variables are rolled initially, some runs may seem more easy, and others may seem more survival-y, but I see that as a boon, actually: for instance, if you start a new run within the same WorldSeed, initial amount of Weapon- and Shield-types is the same, also locations where you find equippable items, just itemClasses get shuffled around. It works like a boardgame with modular setup: the equipDeck is fixed, but gets shuffled each time, then is randomly dealt across the board. So if you find only lowTier items early on, you can be sure to find stronger ones later on. And vice versa: if you find a lot of strong items in the initial stages, you better not waste 'em, cause you're gonna need them later.
Very much on track with testing and finalizing things, otherwise. Will announce a release date eventually, it'll be definitely within 2026, and preferrably before GTA 6, lol.
