Looking for playtesters for my horror puzzle demo (Ashwell Manor (demo) kid dev here!)

Hello! My name is mohid (I'm 9), and I'm looking for a few people to playtest my demo Ashwell Manor! It's a short browser puzzle game: explore a haunted manor, collect items, read creepy journals, solve chained puzzles (cipher, mechanism, grandfather clock at 1:49, etc.), and try to escape. About 30–60 min long. No big monsters yet  just atmosphere and tension. Link: https://little-shadow-games.itch.io/ashwell-manor

What I'm hoping for:

  • Play the whole demo if you can
  • Tell me where you got stuck or confused (puzzles especially!)
  • Any ideas for the full version? (more rooms, hints, scares?)
  • General thoughts: too hard? too easy? creepy enough?

I'll reply to every comment and really appreciate your time! Planning more updates soon  maybe even sneak peeks of new stuff if people want. Thanks! 🏰

Hey! 😊 Thanks a lot for playing my game  it really means a lot to me.

I just wanted to explain a few things. Yes, I’m 9, and I’ve recently started learning game development. I actually got inspired by other developers, and that’s what made me start using Scratch. One day, I decided to try making a horror game, and that’s how this

project started. I created the main story myself and tried to make it feel interesting and different.

I originally wanted to use Unity, but my computer can’t handle it right now. It’s actually a pretty old system (Windows 8.1, even though it shows Windows 7 😅), so I’m doing everything in Scratch for now. In the future, when I have a better computer, I definitely want to make bigger and better games in Unity.

About the darkness in the game  I made it really dark on purpose because I wanted it to feel more challenging and scary, like a puzzle you have to figure out over time (around 30 minutes gameplay). But I understand now that it might be too dark and hard to see, so I’m going to spend the next few days improving the lighting and making it more playable.

Also, I’m really curious   how did you find my game? Did you come from the playtesting page or somewhere else?

I also wanted to ask  do you want any other features in the game? Like power-ups, funny/silly stuff, mods, or maybe details about where I got my assets from? Or if you want, I can also guide you on how to finish the demo or understand the mechanics better.

Right now, I’m also working on the full game, and it’s going really well so far. I don’t want to spoil too much, but let’s just say some things from the demo will definitely come back in the full version 👀

Thanks again for trying my game and for your feedback. I’m still learning, but I’ll keep improving! 🙌
