Hi bro! You might have encountered a bug that “kills” the lights in the map. It can happen if you change video settings mid-game. it's a known issue with UE5 Virtual Shadow Maps. That might be why you got lost. If you reload the game, the lighting should work correctly with your selected settings.

There’s a huge staircase leading to the next part of the map in that dark area. Overall, most players are enjoying the level and finding it easy to navigate.

The enemies are weak because the game is inspired by Doom (1993). They’re meant to go down easily with a single shotgun blast. You’ll encounter two stronger enemies later in the level.

Please keep in mind that the game isn’t meant to look polished at this stage. It’s my first game and the first time I’ve had the courage to put something out there. I really appreciate you giving it a try!

I would suggest trying again without this bug.

I replayed it and I'm updating my takes

The environment design wasn't the issue. I just hadn't realized the doors were more than props. Maybe add some non-locked doors so the player can understand that doors exist, or add an "E to Interact" prompt when getting close enough to do it.

While I still think the shotgun is a little overpowered, the Auto-cannon is okay
The lighting was caused by the bug, not by anything of your doing

I still ultimately think that the appearance of the game could be more unique, as right now it looks forgettable. I can barely remember any of the designs for ANYTHING. The only designs i can remember are the health-pickups being orange squares.
