I absolutely ADORE the wind element. This is my build

Im only at chapter 2, but its really hard to imagine any element that might be stronger than Wind, or at least one that I will like more than it.

I gave up Ice entirely as I was testing out this build.

Sylphid Bracelet (equip) speeds up a random skill by 2 points when you match a friendly Vortex;
Aero Support (armor) makes friendly Vortex crit when you match them,  and crit not only increases the damage dealt, but it also gives you an extra action.
Its too much value from matching your own Vortex gems, and since they also prevent enemies from trying to match them, you are the one who are going to do it most of the time.  They become great defensive and offensive gems.

You can have your momentum going as soon as the first Wind Cutter goes off. Requiring only 2 magic skill match, you can start speeding up your skills and getting some crits off very early into the battle.

Air Control is kinda of a star skill here, its effect is to swap 2 basic gems around, but it also transforms them into Vortex gems when doing it.
This skill becomes a guaranteed match of whatever you want; speed up for a random skill on any match; and a crit on an offensive match. It is your bread an butter skill, its versatility and utility is just too good.
You can use it to match purple/yellow to super charge another skill; match green/blue to heal/protect yourself; match any enemy debuff away; or match white/orange to deal a ton of crit damage alongside getting an extra action. And if you take some time to look on the board, you might be able to get 2 of these effect at the same time. Its crazy.

Since you can use Wind Cutter pretty frequently, your board will easily have enough Vortex gems to guarantee Air Slash's second damage. And while you won't have Wind Dash to create speed gems, the Aero Support armor does a great job of creating them for you for free, which gives you the opportunity to charge your physical skills faster, but more importantly, procs the crit on Air Slash, increasing its damage by a lot and making it give an extra action.

Shield Crush is your One Shot One Kill Skill. It is just a skill thats way too strong to pass up.
It heavily reduces the enemy's GG before dealing extremely high base. And the best part about it is that it can crit too (of course, like everything else here), making it deal an obscene amount of damage while also granting you another action to work with.

And we have Mind Guard last, a cheap heal spell that can keep you healthy while doing dungeons, and also prevents some of the nastiest debuffs there are.

I really love this build, it picks up speed really fast to start steamrolling the combat.
There are SO many crits that you will be often getting 6 actions per turn, allowing you to do an absurdly high amount of damage really fast.
On my best momentums I can cast Air Control twice in a single turn alongside other skills, including the physical ones.
And what makes me love it a lot besides its speed is its versatility, the stats are all balanced, I can use physical and magical damage as I want, and there is not a single gem that is useless to me.

My build is very different, but yeah, I also really think Wind is the strongest element. It's by far the most versatile. Maybe that's not true anymore past Ch 2, I dunno... not a Patron.

That said, there's... actually nothing preventing you from changing your skillset before every fight, so it's entirely possible it's best to have multiple sets that are really powerful at specific things rather than one hyper-versatile set. But I'm pretty sure most people don't swap their skills before every fight.

There are a lot of games that allows players to swap builds at will, but swapping before every battle is a hassle that most players dont want to go through.  Its better to have a general main build for comfort.

Whats your build?

I use both Wind Cutter and Gust Cutter, spamming them with the help of Incantation Headband. I don't use any big attack like Shield Crush, because I find it takes too long to get going when most regular enemies are already dead by then, though I get how Shield Crush is more effective against the boss battles.
