Inconsistent enforcement by platforms on adult content has been the standard for years now, so no, it's not strange. Some of the things we'd explicitly cleared with Patreon staff previously were cited as reasons for the ban. Effectively, they have a revolving door of trust and safety staff (or outsource it), who have autonomy to make decisions like this without referencing prior decisions made by Patreon.
