yeah in a way I guess being confused it's part of the experience. its good to know that. also that you didn't felt things were so clear, especially abot the rolls. is defo a good shout for me to be aware and try to improve on. so thanks for saying all that!

you technically shouldn't be allowed to roll the same stat before rolling the others first. defo a bug I will look into.

the choice of stat is mostly about the flavor that you want to put on the story as you get prompted. as i built this with a ttrpg "theatre of the mind" type of idea, you are creating your own story. the terminal gameplay might not make it so clear. but in a way it also relates to the setting.

I think you feeling not rolling fewer dice it's worth it, ends up being your strategy and the story you are constructing, but the idea to break out of the loop is to roll low and get glitches instead of successes. But you don't have to try to break the loop, is all up to you. in the terminal the DC is indeed static because of time and easier to just make it that.

also I guess one thing that might got hidden in the page description, and could help make things clearer, is that I did the game in a webzine type format first https://mama-cailleach.github.io/31st-of-feb-zine, and the terminal is a tool for one type of gameplay. but I tried to expose everything a bit better on the zine (not that it will necessarily make things clearer lol). so a quick one page cheat sheet instructions thing could have been more useful in the itch page.

Thanks for the detailed reply! The webzine you linked definitely helps frame things. I think this is just a very different experience from what I'm used to, but that in of itself makes it worthwhile!
