The whole dungeon was a fun surprise, but I didn’t get caught flat-footed by it because I was already having so much trouble with the boss that I assumed I needed to be thrifty to beat it at all - this approach was definitely influenced by having played Sacrifice and Dalig’s previous game already, though.

I also got a Woof Meat very early into the dungeon part, which felt a bit too generous - I ended up finishing the dungeon with a whole 34 MP left, though I also assume I had other luck with the one Sorceress I encountered not casting any spells at me.

That said, I think “generous” is a good edge of the spectrum to land on especially for this kind of experiment. I actually managed to finish it, after all, which I couldn’t say for Dalig’s previous venture. And I am indeed looking forward to her presumed future return after this.

i love that you said that, because that's a whole factor i didn't even think about. of course it's true that if the boss feels hard, then (what i've termed) the easy and obvious approach isn't gonna feel easy and obvious. maybe a further revision would turn down the heat a little bit but cook you a little longer, like lower per-turn damage but aiming for the same amount of total resource drain.... much to consider! thank you for your observations
