Actually, the third guardian gives additional crit damage and as far as I can tell, it is the only source of crit damage. The default is x1. That means that when you defeated and recruited the second but not the third guardian, the crits do normal damage. Maybe set the default to x2 or x3.

Yep, it kind of pointless at the moment, I’m planning to add guardian upgrades which in turn boost the crits. I’m not sure if I will have that though, and might actually go with your suggestion instead.
