You can download the desktop(win/linux/mac) from here (links in itch.io page), it is the same everywhere.
There is nothing related to steam that would cause such bugs, if there were the game wouldn't start or console would popup with errors or nothing would work.
Could you elaborate on the bugs, like the wave won't spawn drones if you are near a safe area or in a sector that doesn't have waves,
did the pop up console show any errors? (F7 to open, no creative needed), for the building and driving are you sure there really were bugs, there might be other factors like being docked to a stationary target or having no water or the rcs being disconnected or the autopilot making rcs feel like they are stopped or the drive button from cockpit not pressed and so on.
well i wasnt in a sector with no drone waves,but i also wasnt in a safe zone,the timer on the cockpits screen just doesnt show the timer,and i couldnt manually trigger the wave by pressing F8 or through the debug menu. and as for not being able to build,expand ship hull,and steer the ship. i had enough RCS to move the ship,and my water tanks were at full,but still couldnt controll it,i also wasnt able to expand the ships hull for some reason. but now everything just works fine. the only issue is that the drone waves dont work
