First of all - if I understood correctly that this game was made by a married couple… this is adorable 😄 seriously, that’s very cool.
And overall, I liked the game a lot. I’ll be honest - at the very beginning I struggled and couldn’t finish any meals, so at first I wasn’t fully sold on it. But after reading some comments I realized the balancing was a known issue during the jam, which is totally understandable. I ended up solving it by investing all my starting money into increasing the number of food slots so I could survive the first days.
After that, I genuinely had a lot of fun. I even played it together with my friends and for all of us it became one of the most engaging entries we tried so far.
Also the art is very, very cool - huge shout-out to the artist! 🔥
If I could suggest one small technical thing, it would be to keep pixel-per-unit values consistent when drawing and importing assets into Unity. That usually helps everything keep the same pixel scale and makes the visuals feel even cleaner.
Another tiny usability wish - it would be nice to see what ingredient types can replace each other directly in the menu, somewhere near the available ingredients. Not a big issue at all, just a small quality-of-life idea.
Thanks for the cool entry, I really enjoyed playing it. Good luck!
