πŸ–₯️ NETBREAK - netbreak -

A cyberpunk hacking simulator where the entire game IS the operating system. No menus, no HUD — just you, a terminal, and a network full of targets.

  **What is it?**

NETBREAK puts you in the shoes of a hacker navigating a fully diegetic desktop OS. Every action — scanning networks, cracking passwords, exploiting vulnerabilities, reading emails, buying tools — happens

through in-game apps and a working terminal with 100+ commands.

  **Features:**

  - 107 missions across a 5-act story with 5 different endings

  - Real hacking workflow: nmap β†’ hydra β†’ exploit β†’ exfiltrate

  - 11 apps: Terminal, Email, NetMap, Shop, Skills, SOC Dashboard, and more

  - 24-node skill tree (Technical, Social Engineering, Defense)

  - Adaptive AI defenders that react to your intrusions

  - Faction reputation system with territory control

  - Blue Team gameplay — defend networks, not just attack them

  - Procedurally generated missions for endless replayability

  - CRT scanline effects and adaptive cyberpunk soundtrack

**Play it free in your browser or download for Windows.**

I played the first mission and I think it was rather interesting. I am a linux afficionado and appreciated the simplified terminal interface, which made the command usage more focused on the fun bits and less on the manpage reading.

Some notes:

  • The SFX volume is really loud by default! I adjusted my volume until the music sounded right, but some sounds were way too loud. I found that in the settings the SFX was 4X louder than music.
  • Because I don’t have great eyesight, an option to change UI zoom in the settings would have really appreciated
  • I liked that the RAM upgrade costs $1000, very topical :D

Thank you very much :) I uploaded another version with some improvements.
There is still a lot to do in the game, so I hope you are going to like it.

Wow, that’s so cool and awesome! I hope it becomes a hit!
