I tried downloading the game through the Itch.io app and the tutorial is bugged as I am softlocked from progressing. I do not see the stage at all, and I see a blank area with an island to the side. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall and the issue was not fixe

Are you on an older device perhaps? The current rendering library I use is incompatible with older hardware, so that might be the issue.

The laptop is 6 years old. It can handle ark survival evolved with low settings. I'm not sure if it is due to hardware then

It depends on a few things, but you can search up Vulcan compatibility online and there is a tool that can tell you if its due to that. This issue is only caused by this.

Ah ok, I'll double check it. Last time I checked, my laptop could play Valheim through Vulkan. Things might've changed then.

I know that the newer versions of Vulkan, I think it was from 1.3, have more compatibility issues with older hardware. It may also be a gpu driver issue if you are on 5th or 6th gen nvidia.
