Welcome!

The Frankenstein Diaries is the project I'm currently working on and hopefully I will be able to release the demo within a few weeks!

(Mary, the protagonist.)

What is the game about?

A retelling of Mary Shelley's greatest work, the story follows Mary, the daughter of a mad doctor with a God complex and ambitions far too big for his own laboratory.

(The laboratory in the darkness.)

When visiting the house that once belonged to her parents in order to understand their absense in her life, Mary ends up discovering much more than she first expected: a journey into the past will reveal the horrors her father secretly worked on and the tragic results of his experiments.

The game unfolds in loops, retelling the story time after time until the player finally understands what truly happened in that cursed house. It blends past and present, and features the return of a creature whose existence defies both science and religion.

(Get used to some trips to the cemetery.)

This is a game of exploration and item interaction, made in RPG Maker with beautiful pixel art by PVGames.

Are you ready?

Hello! Just a little something I want to share with you today.

In the game, Mary is able to learn more about her parents' past and the events that took place in their mysterious house by reading her father's diary.

(A diary entry featuring a picture of Elise, Mary's mother.)

Throughout the game you'll find lots of interesting books to take a look at, books I wish somehow existed, but they are all fiction unfortunately (unless I decided to write them myself xD).

(Example of book cover from the game.)

I feel as if the game is a sort of "interaction fiction", as there will be some reading to do, but nothing too overwhelming.

The game features several "chapters", each adding more to the overall story little by little... I really like the idea of developing a story by loops, revisiting the same rooms to better understand what happened and that will happen.

See you soon!
