Definitely still talking about RYT. I'm just using it as an example writers use to explain the inexplicable, like how the human got wherever, can understand alien 👽 beings perfectly, how their space travel works, etc. RYT are using known science, even if only a little, it helps making it more believable and easier to understand. Unlike Adastra, which explained away those aforementioned issues using 'Parents, stretch drive, and the Mcguffin, er, Lingua' and that last option opens a massive can of worms 🪱 😉 🤔. If the device can manipulate the motor functions, speech, vocalisations, including the ability to perceive any sentient beings language and translate it in real time. What else can it do we or even the beings they're installed into? It's not a stretch to think it could manipulate ones emotions, desires, visual perceptions. Basically it can modify whatever is needed so the host perception of reality, to whatever those controlling it want, ala The Matrix. Once they implant it, it's impossible for the host to know what they're experiencing is really their reality, not one meant to have you ignorant of your ACTUAL REALITY. Kinda like simulation theory. How would someone inside the simulation, know they're in a simulation if it's sufficiently accurate/believable to all possible senses? That's why I prefer what RYT did. They tried to make as much as they could be grounded in known theories, even if only slightly. Takes more effort than just saying 'it's magic," 😆.
Although RYT is based on science, I still think there's a bit of "magic" or science that's too absurd to be considered proper science. I mean, what are the chances of a canine-human species existing? Or worse, how do you explain Tucker's abnormal comprehension abilities? Even if the hallucinations are side effects of Mæron or just stress, I doubt any of them would give you the ability to understand the Carain language. The only explanations I can think of are time travel or parallel dimensions. I simply can't swallow that Tucker was simply transported to another place in the universe where a species so familiar to humans exists, not only in appearance but also in behavior and culture.
