💬 FQA:

Apparently, since version 0.90.16, you no longer need to manually export your save files before updating the game.

This applies to all platforms: Android, PC, Linux, and Mac.

However, this only works as long as you do not uninstall or delete the game.
If the game is removed from your device, the local save data will also be deleted.

That being said, regardless of what you choose to do, we strongly recommend exporting your save files first before making any changes.
If something goes wrong during the update process, having an exported save will allow you to recover your progress.

For major updates, starting from a fresh save is also often recommended.
Sometimes, new events, content, or gameplay adjustments may not trigger correctly on older saves created in previous versions of the game.
Beginning a new playthrough is usually the best way to experience all new content as intended.

That said, older saves can still work with new updates in many cases.
According to @Ragnarok, who has been testing the game extensively, new content can still trigger even on very late saves (for example, on Day 130+).

So the choice is ultimately up to you.
You can uninstall the game and reinstall the newest version if you want, but please export your save files first before doing anything, just to be safe.
